JOB TITLE: Real Estate Associate
LOCATION: Denver, CO
POSITION SUMMARY
Spencer Fane is looking for a Real Estate Attorney to join our Real Estate practice group in our Denver, CO office who also has previous experience in land use or is willing to learn about and become a land use attorney. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience representing clients with respect to transactional real estate work, including drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, review of title work, closings, leases, easements, and other related documents. This position will also involve representing investors, developers, and borrowers on various phases of real estate projects. Additionally, experience in land use-specific issues, including zoning and entitlements analysis, creation of new entitlements and annexations will be a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record
- Admission to the Colorado bar
- Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients
- Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and organization skills
- Outstanding judgement
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects
- Ability to develop and implement legal strategies
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve the need for inter-office mobility for brief periods of time
- Ability to occasionally or routinely lift up to 10 – 20 lbs.
- Ability to efficiently communicate
- Ability to perform repetitive motions required
- Ability to see and read PC screens, detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print
COMPENSATION
$170,000 to $190,000, plus variable compensation for individual production.
