Summary:
Aker is seeking a Vice President to lead strategic initiatives and business plan execution across a ~$2B portfolio of multifamily and commercial real estate. This lead operator will oversee the full investment lifecycle – from acquisition through disposition – ensuring assets are positioned to exceed performance expectations and create long-term value. The ideal candidate combines analytical depth with operational leadership, excels in cross-functional environments, and thrives on complexity, urgency, and impact. This is a high-visibility, high-autonomy role with direct exposure to institutional capital partners and platform-wide growth opportunities.
Portfolio Leadership
- Develop and execute a unified investment strategy across a ~$2B portfolio of multifamily and commercial assets, aligned with Aker’s long-term objectives.
- Lead business plan execution from acquisition through disposition, including repositionings and major capital initiatives.
- Drive long-term value creation by leveraging internal capabilities and strategic partnerships.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee asset performance and project execution to ensure NOI growth and operational efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to optimize workforce structure, streamline capital workflows, and deploy high-impact technologies.
- Set and exceed aggressive performance targets through data-driven collaboration with property, construction, and finance teams.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting to support proactive, insight-driven decision-making.
Capital Markets & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for institutional investors, lenders, and strategic partners.
- Lead all investor and lender communications, including reporting, recapitalizations, refinancings, and sale processes.
Team Development & Culture Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and growth.
- Promote cross-functional alignment across acquisitions, design, construction, and operations for unified execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6+ years in real estate acquisitions and/or asset management, ideally across both institutional and entrepreneurial platforms
- Proficiency in budgeting, leasing strategy, financial modeling, and portfolio analytics
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Superior organizational and time-management skills, with the capability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
