Carmel Partners, one of the nation’s leading specialists in real estate investment management, with expertise in the investment, development, and construction of multi-family real estate, is seeking an Analyst, Acquisitions and Development in our Santa Monica Office.
The primary responsibility of this Analyst is to analyze and underwrite potential acquisitions and dispositions. The Analyst will gain comprehensive knowledge of all facets of the multifamily business, including acquisitions, dispositions, capital improvements, development, debt, due diligence, and transaction oversight.

What you’ll do
- Assist the Acquisitions & Development team in analyzing potential acquisition and development opportunities, including:
- Determining preliminary income and expense projections
- Evaluating in-place and market rents
- Assessing economic, demographic, and real estate market data
- Analyzing and tracking sales comp data
- Preparing and ensuring the accuracy of valuation models/proformas
- Actively participate in evaluating and closing real estate transactions (both acquisitions and dispositions)
- Prepare preliminary financial packages for the Investment Committee
- Maintain and regularly update proformas during the lifecycle of investments, from the initial valuation and due diligence process through business plan execution and disposition
- Prepare cash flow projections and business plans to evaluate investment alternatives and exit strategies
- Handle legal contracts, including:
- Pre-screening contracts for common terms and conditions
- Coordinating third-party attorney services with the team and General Counsel
- Assist with special Asset Team Projects and corporate-level initiatives

What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; finance, business, or economics
- 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in the real estate investment sector
- High proficiency in Excel modeling
- Basic understanding of finance and real estate concepts
- Experience with cash flow modeling
Compensation and Benefits

- Base salary range for this position is $100K to $110K. The Company provides this compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that in good faith, believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. Total compensation for this role also includes a bonus incentive in addition to the base salary. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
