Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Real Estate Document Specialist I to join our team at CMS Energy. In this role, you will be responsible for performing internal due diligence to ensure the accuracy and completeness of land rights, identifying any deficiencies that may require corrective action, and preparing land-related contracts and agreements using pre-approved templates. This position requires the ability to manage a dynamic workload, adjust to changing priorities, and work independently under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform internal due diligence to ensure land rights accuracy and completeness, identifying deficiencies that require curative action.
- Prepare land-related contracts and agreements (e.g., rights-of-way, leases, permits, temporary workspace agreements) using established templates.
- Interpret and apply Owner’s established policies, procedures, and processes to ensure consistency in work output.
- Understand and apply various types of land-related contracts for the construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities.
- Read and interpret legal descriptions of land and rights associated with property agreements.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Right of Way/Real Estate industry in a Document Specialist role.
- Familiarity with land-related contracts and agreements for construction, operation, and maintenance of existing and new facilities.
- Knowledge of legal descriptions of land and the ability to interpret and apply them to relevant contracts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and under pressure.
