Job Summary:
The IT Service Desk Intern provides first-level support for technical infrastructure, including Windows and macOS computers, as well as various client-based IT applications and services. This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology and delivering exceptional customer service in a professional and approachable manner.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent end-to-end user support by promptly resolving or escalating issues, maintaining professional and timely communication throughout
- Serve as the liaison for logging, dispatching, and tracking incidents and service requests; follow up to ensure resolution and fulfillment
- Provision and stage hardware for employees
- Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues for end users, recommending and implementing effective solutions
- Document resolutions and contribute to self-help and knowledge base content
- Assist in the procurement of hardware and software
- Perform asset management tasks, including maintaining accurate inventory records
- Troubleshoot user workstations and related hardware/software to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve escalated issues
- Provide after-hours support when needed
- Adhere to company IT policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology or a related technical field
- Strong interest in technology, customer support, and IT security
- Hands-on experience with hardware provisioning and troubleshooting
- Solid working knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, MS Office, and other productivity tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical concepts in user-friendly language
- Effective interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude
- Ability to research and learn about new tools, technologies, and solutions as needed
