Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of Scottish Rite for Children's real estate properties.
- Communicate effectively by telephone, letters, and in person with a wide range of individuals (both internal and external) regarding selling, leasing, and maintaining Scottish Rite properties.
- Make recommendations to Department Director and/or other members of management regarding acceptance, listing, and sale of real estate properties after careful evaluation.
- Facilitate the inspection, acceptance, and disposition of real and personal property (including donated vehicles) received from donors and/or through estates, in coordination with Department Director, Development team and other leadership team members.
- Conduct physical inspections of real estate properties by traveling to various locations, taking photos, and compiling written reports.
- Conduct research regarding real estate properties, including tax and value information, by accessing local real estate information from appropriate databases and/or websites.
- Conduct due diligence on behalf of the Hospital on properties for future purchase, as requested.
- Coordinate necessary steps to complete the closing of sale on donated real estate properties.
- Work with legal team in document preparation for various real estate needs.
- Review annual Ad Valorem property taxes for campus and donated properties.
- Review appraised values for campus and donated properties. Submit protest forms as needed and submit exemption documents for campus properties.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience regarding map and plat records, titles, deeds, and abstracts
- Previous property management experience required with knowledge or training in real estate and farm management
