POSITION
Slate Property Group's residential leasing platform, Abode Residential, LLC, is looking to hire an experienced professional with landlord representative residential leasing experience in the New York City market. This role requires exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills with a strong understanding of leasing agent relationships, the NYC rental market and residential marketing experience. This employee will be part of a fast-paced environment, and the right candidate could meaningfully contribute to the growth of the business.
- Support the management of daily leasing operations, including marketing strategies, leasing workflows, and overall portfolio strategy, for a diverse portfolio of 3,500+ residential units.
- Manage a team of 8+ leasing agents, setting clear objectives, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing strategic guidance to ensure the achievement of leasing goals and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Coordinate property management-related tasks, including conducting monthly property walks, tracking move-ins, and reporting maintenance or tenant issues.
- Actively manage the renewal process in collaboration with leasing administration professionals, ensuring a timely and effective lease renewal process.
- Coordinate marketing items for the portfolio consisting of unit photography, website edits, listing information and the onboarding of new properties.
- Interact with third-party brokerage firms to coordinate showings, provide pricing guidance, and actively drive new business opportunities
- Review lease applications and agent invoices for approval, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Assist with special projects, such as onboarding new software systems, ad-hoc reporting, and other operational improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of residential leasing experience in the New York City market, with a strong understanding of landlord-leasing strategy and operations.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing a team, with proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate.
- Strong ability to work across multiple departments including asset management and property management.
- Experience with Yardi, On-Site and CRM systems, along with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An entrepreneurial person with professional demeanor.
- Willing and able to answer emails, text messages and phone calls “after hours” and on the weekends.
- Valid NY Real Estate Salesperson License or Associate Broker, preferred.
