We are looking for Laborer to join out team! This position will be responsible for performing various physical labor duties on construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using theappropriate tools and equipment for the task
- Properly follows all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures andenvironment
- Reports any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager
- Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials withshovel
- Follows direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite
- May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer
- Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials
- Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
- Other duties as assignedSafety
- Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are complied with at all timesincluding but not limited to operation of tools, equipment and machinery
- Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisorimmediately
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years' experience working in an outdoor construction environment, preferably with water or sewerutilities
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, andprocedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn products, processes,safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, commonfractions and decimals
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral ordiagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardizedsituations
