OPPORTUNITY
Our client operates in the real estate segment as a leader in leasing and property management for single family homes in the Southeastern United States. With thousands of homes in desirable neighborhoods and decades of experience, our client prides itself on bringing comfort, support, and convenience to the rental process.
This HR Generalist role is a great opportunity for an early career HR specialist to gain experience in managing HR functions for a real estate organization. The role will be focused on compliance, employee relations, and maintaining relationships with external vendors (payroll, benefits, etc.).
SCOPE OF WORK
- Conduct research and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and policies.
- Update and manage employee records, HRIS systems, and documentation for all team members.
- Oversee yearly performance management processes including coaching and feedback, formal evaluations, promotions, performance improvement, and training and development initiatives.
- Work with external vendors to manage functions such as benefits and payroll. Administer benefits programs, assist with open enrollment questions, communicate changes as they arise, provide training on benefits offerings, and resolve any issues that arise with vendors. Work closely with CFO on benefits cost management.
- Develop and/or maintain HR policies and procedures, scaling them as the company continues to grow.
- Coordinate training and development programs to support employee growth and business objectives.
- Handle all leave management tasks including FMLA, disability, and PTO.
- Support payroll processing, ensuring accurate timekeeping, compliance with wage regulations, and updating employee compensation upon promotion and/or bonus payments are made.
- Manage employee relations efforts and inquiries including conflict resolution, compliance trainings, performance improvement, terminations, onboarding, promotions, and more.
- Assist with recruiting functions including creating and maintaining job descriptions, candidate screenings, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
- Conduct exit interviews when applicable and analyze data/feedback to improve retention strategies.
- Assist with organizing company events, employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and new hire onboarding.
- Maintain discretion, integrity, and confidentiality with all HR operations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 4+ years of Human Resources experience
- 2+ years of experience working with HR software and payroll systems (Paylocity) and/or maintaining relationships with external vendors that process payroll, benefits, and other HR functions
- Work experience in the real estate or property management space is preferred, but not required.
- PHR, SHRM, or other relevant certifications are a plus. Knowledge of HR principles, policies, and employment laws is required.
- Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills are required.
