Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible for a diverse set of duties within a dynamic and fast-growing real estate firm, with primary responsibility for providing multi-faceted project management, investment and financial modeling, information gathering, property underwriting, performance analysis, research, and support to the Multifamily operations team among other duties. The position assists in many aspects of real estate investment, including building, operating, leasing, asset management, financing, and selling real estate assets.
Responsibilities
- Analyze development and acquisition projects using Excel modeling spreadsheets.
- Support property management team members.
- Perform basic review and corresponding assumption reporting, including underwriting, proforma, and valuation for potential or existing projects.
- Attend site visits, market/property tours, developer/owner meetings, as needed.
- Research, vet and execute development-related projects as needed.
- Analyze and interpret property financial information.
- Participate in the property budget and strategic plan processes.
- Analyze market data and implement the information into property projections.
- Create and modify templates as well as prepare and send correspondence as appropriate.
- Research builders and other clients, vendors, and/or investment partners.
- Model property and fund cash flow projections using Excel.
- Create and maintain financial models and forecasts for prospective acquisition and disposition opportunities and currently-owned assets; present data to the team.
- Calculate investment returns for various real estate scenarios.
- Model and sensitize leasing, financing, and buy/sell scenarios.
- Attend site visits, market tours, and meetings with brokers, contractors, and owners.
- Summarize property and investment activity and create various materials for investors or the Multifamily team.
- Maintain communication in various mediums with the Multifamily team and any other interested parties related to the property.
- Assist Vice Presidents and various ad-hoc financial analyses.
- Maintain region-wide development and acquisition pipeline using both excel and mapping software.
- Monitor research of regional markets regarding rent, employment, permits, and supply and demand trends.
- Assist management team on other projects, as needed. (i.e., acquisitions, budgets, management fee analyses, etc.).
- Due diligence research on rent, expenses, utilities, taxes, and pre-development fees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Advanced ability to create and manipulate complex financial models in Microsoft Excel.

- Understanding of basic finance and real estate concepts.
- Ability to protect and maintain sensitive and confidential client information.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to read and interpret information as well as communicate effectively with all levels of employees, clients, and vendors.
Professional and Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree required; Finance, Real Estate or related field strongly preferred.
- Successful candidates will have one to three years real estate experience. Familiarity with multifamily property management is a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be willing to travel as needed
