The Opportunity: Asset Manager
Our commercial real estate team is growing, and we are looking for a multifamily asset manager to support and oversee asset management efforts across our portfolio. This role will be responsible for preparing and executing on asset-specific business plans, financial modeling, risk mitigation, and performance optimization for our diverse and growing portfolio of commercial real estate investments. You will collaborate with the real estate team to identify and implement innovative ways to maximize asset value and performance. The Associate will also assist in analyzing and underwriting new opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Portfolio Analysis: Support the real estate portfolio management team by monitoring and evaluating the performance of existing investments, frequently with the intent of communicating conclusions and recommendations to the investment committee.
- Execution of Business Plans: Oversee the implementation and execution of business plans across Freestone’s real estate investments, measuring KPIs against investment underwriting, managing income distributions, and overseeing exit opportunities as appropriate. Manage operating partners and third-party property management to ensure alignment with business plans, optimize asset performance, and drive value creation.
- Investment & Financial Analysis: Perform financial modeling for existing assets, tracking key metrics such as NOI growth, leasing trends, refinancing opportunities, and return projections. Conduct market research to support asset strategy decisions. Support underwriting for new acquisitions, recapitalizations, and refinancing opportunities.
- Marketing and Investor Relations: Assist in the drafting of marketing materials and presentations for distribution to Freestone’s clients and prospective investors.
- Administration: Maintain Freestone’s CRM, electronic files, operating/investment reports, and other corporate reporting.
- Miscellaneous: Support special projects, process improvements, and technology implementations that enhance investment operations and decision-making
Qualifications And Experience
- A minimum of 1-4 years of relevant professional experience in multifamily real estate. Affordable housing, office, industrial, or retail experience a plus
- Ability to travel to site locations (1-2 times a month)
- Strong analytical skills, with experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Significant experience with financial analysis, underwriting, and modeling
- A self-driven, proactive mindset with a knack for problem-solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
