Position Summary
The Mortgage Processor (MP) plays a critical role in supporting mortgage loan officers by facilitating the processing of construction-to-permanent mortgage loan applications. This position is responsible for preparing comprehensive credit packages for underwriting approval, assembling documentation for project approval, and coordinating the collection of builder registration materials to ensure a seamless and efficient loan process.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a pipeline of over 60 borrower files, ensuring consistent progress through the construction loan process.
- Foster and sustain positive, professional relationships with clients, builders, and real estate agents to enhance collaboration and customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed and compliant with current investor construction underwriting guidelines.
- Conduct preliminary income reviews in accordance with investor guidelines for all new loan files.
- Support the timely progression of files through key milestones, including disclosures, file opening, underwriting submission, project approval, clear-to-close status, and funding.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of borrower data entered into the Meridian Link Loan Origination System (LOS), verifying alignment between credit files and project budgets.
- Coordinate the ordering and tracking of title reports and insurance policies, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
- Perform additional tasks within the Construction Department as required to support team objectives.
- Adhere to established company service standards, delivering exceptional client experiences.
- Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures.
- Undertake other duties as assigned to meet departmental and organizational needs.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- General understanding of loan processes and mortgage operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of mortgage processing experience required.
