Job Description:
We are seeking a Loan Origination Analyst with 0-3 years of commercial underwriting experience with large loans ($10M average loan size) -- GSE multifamily experience as well as DUS experience is preferred. The analyst’s primary responsibilities will be to provide day-to-day financial, market, and underwriting analysis of multifamily loans to. This is an excellent opportunity to be thoroughly educated about the underwriting of multifamily mortgages, to have extensive contact with our clients, and to train under the premier programs (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac). This position affords the opportunity to work closely with our teams Originators on the structuring, underwriting, and closing of transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze, interpret and underwrite complex multifamily real estate transactions in compliance with respective agency guidelines (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) and with respect to guidelines of Banks and Private Credit lenders
- Conduct detailed economic and demographic research to determine feasibility of transactions
- Prepare comprehensive loan offering packages that will be provided to lenders
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with pre-screen teams, closing departments, capital providing partners, and external agency investors
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of physical real-estate assets on an as-needed basis
- Manage the closing process of transactions under strict timelines
Skills, Education and Experience:
- B.S./B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate or other related fields preferred
- 0-3 years of direct Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac underwriting experience with large loans ($10M average loan size)
- Highly developed analytical, research and written/oral presentation skills
