Crosland Southeast is a leading commercial real estate development firm based in Charlotte, NC, dedicated to developing high-quality properties throughout the Southeast. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Development Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our standards for successfully executing ground-up commercial projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the entire project lifecycle for assigned developments, from initial feasibility studies and due diligence to permitting, design, construction, and closeout.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Manage project budgets and meet financial goals while maintaining high-quality construction standards.
- Oversee the project due diligence and design process and collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and other consultants.
- Manage the procurement and vendor selection process for various construction contracts.
- Secure all necessary permits and approvals from local and state authorities.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to maintain momentum and achieve completion.
- Foster clear and open communication with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, tenants, and lenders.
- Prepare and deliver regular project status reports, highlighting progress, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal construction project regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate development, civil engineering, construction, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing ground-up commercial development projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to develop and manage project schedules and budgets.
- Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Valid driver's license.
