Chronicle Books is looking for a creative Social Media Assistant to help strategize, manage, and assist with our influencer partnership program and daily social media upkeep. This individual will help execute effective marketing plans through content creation, community engagement, and performance tracking.
Key Responsibilities: The person in this role will assist in the development and execution of content calendars, create and edit graphics and short-form video content, oversee daily engagement and monitoring across all social media channels, and help coordinate our ongoing influencer partnership program through research, tracking metrics, and managing product shipments. They will also pull and analyze monthly social media and influencer campaign reports, work with authors and illustrators to create content for social media channels, and stay up to date with social media trends, current events, platform updates, and best practices.
Hiring Salary Range: $22.84 - $26.26/hr. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, an applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is eligible for our profit share plan.

Schedule: Employees at Chronicle Books will follow a regular hybrid schedule in our San Francisco office of at least three (3) in-office days per week and up to five (5) in-office days per week, depending on project and business needs. Requirements
Applicants will need a strong understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices, proficiency with Canva and other design tools, basic video editing skills (e.g. Reels, TikTok, Stories), excellent writing and communication skills, and familiarity with scheduling tools and analytics dashboards. They should be organized, proactive, and detail-oriented while being comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment. They will need a passion for all-things social media, an eye for aesthetics and branding, with knowledge of trends, influencers, and competitors in Chronicle Books’ areas of publishing a plus.
