JOB DESCRIPTION
The El Camino Community College District is now accepting applications for anticipated part-time faculty positions in the following subject area for fall 2025:
REAL ESTATE
Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Law,
Mortgage Loan Brokerage, Escrow, and Real Estate Appraisal
Faculty job responsibilities include the assessment of learning outcomes to improve teaching and learning in achieving El Camino College's mission of institutional effectiveness, quality educational programs, and vibrant student support services.
Faculty assignments may include morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend hours. Dual enrollment, distance education, on-line or hybrid with required distance education certification assignments are voluntary. For faculty who are interested in teaching online or hybrid courses, completion of El Camino College's distance education certification process is required or submission of a waiver with evidence of prior certification to develop and teach quality online courses.
Faculty may participate in initiatives set forth by the College that support students to achieve their educational goals through collaborations with employers, advisory committees, industry/trade groups, universities, high schools, or other partnerships with related instructional disciplines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business or finance, CA BRE Broker license or CA BREA Certified Appraisal license AND two years' experience as a broker or appraiser; OR
Associate's degree in business, real estate, finance or real estate appraisal, CA BRE Broker license or CA BREA Certified Appraisal license AND six years' experience as a broker or appraiser; OR
The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualification(s) as stated on this announcement must complete the Request for Equivalency Form as part of the application process to explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; OR
Valid California community college credential in appropriate subject issued prior to July 1, 1990 (per California Education Code 87355); AND
Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and of individuals with disabilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The equivalent of three or more years of recent full-time community college teaching experience in Real Estate Practice, Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Mortgage Loan Brokering or Real Estate Finance, Entrepreneurship, and/or Retail Management courses preferred.
Recent industry leadership experience demonstating progressive advancement in Real Estate.
Interest in investigating online teaching opportunities using online platforms.
Availability to teach morning and evening courses including off-site at community-partner locations, including local high schools.
Master's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Management,or Finance is highly desirable.
Experience examining and remediating one's instruction, interactions, and/or practices to more effectively engage and support diverse students.
Demonstrated skill with addressing issues of equity.
Demonstrated expertise in culturally responsive methodologies, particularly as it relates to student's lives, interests, and communities.
CLOSING DATE: THURSDAY, MAY 8, 2025 AT 3:00 P.M.
SALARY:
Part-time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is $105.27 - $134.39 (lecture), $79.79 - $101.83 (lab), per hour depending on education and experience.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time, temporary position for the 2025 fall semester, beginning August 2025. Assignments may include off-site locations. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), and transcripts. Candidates selected for employment must agree to be fingerprinted, submit a Certificate of Completion of the Tuberculosis Risk Assessment and/or Examination, provide proof of eligibility for employment in the United States, and present a valid Social Security Card upon hire.
