JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of roads, bridges, and surrounding grounds, and for directing traffic around work sites.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Puts signs up informing motorists of traffic situations or dangers
- Rakes gravel, shovel and smooth asphalt on roads, and fill potholes
- Directs traffic around construction sites using flags
- Cuts weeds and grass along roads and intersections; trims trees for appearance and motorist visibility
- Drives pick-up truck carrying county employee workers to work sites
- Installs street signs and marker posts for public information
