Overview
Local business excited to add a part-time person to office team. Seeking a detail-oriented, organized self-starter who appreciates working for a local small business and appreciates the importance of their contributions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for general office support including part time Bookkeeping, Quickbooks Desktop and MS Office suite proficiency required. Due to the variation of day-to-day tasks the ideal candidate needs strong problem-solving abilities with a driven sense to work independently. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our daily operations and ensuring that administrative tasks are executed efficiently. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with budgeting, payroll support and managing accounts payable.
Responsibilities
- Assist with financial statements and reports, including general ledger, receivable/payable, cash, sales, and payroll accounts as needed
- Manage and maintain the general ledger
- Conduct account reconciliation
- Data entry for financial transactions
- Provide support to Supervisor
- Process timecards
- Collaborate with internal & external personal to meet compliance requirements
- Payroll support, Prevailing Wage & Certified Payroll experience is needed. However, training for the right candidate will be provided.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Apply knowledge of debits and credits to maintain proper account balances.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with various agencies.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including filing, organizing documents, etc.
Experience
- Proficiency in Quickbooks desktop is required.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting regulations is a plus.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Understanding of basic financial concepts related to debits, credits, and account management.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a professional bookkeeper
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field experience preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Quickbooks software and MS Office Suite is required
- Strong understanding of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation
- Excellent 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry
- Ability to handle accounting tasks efficiently
- Reliable transportation for on-site work.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and human relations skills for interacting with supervisor, customers and team members.
- Strong English oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
- Computer & technology proficiency required
- Must have reliable transportation, maintain a current California driver’s license
- Pass a required pre-employment drug screening.
- Pass a pre-employment background check.
