As a
Vice President of Real Estate, you are a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all real estate functions, including site selection, acquisition, leasing, facility planning, and development. In your role, it is critical to ensure our locations meet operational, regulatory, and therapeutic requirements while supporting growth initiatives. You will work cross-functionally with other departments to align real estate strategies with our mission to expand access to treatment.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Urban Planning, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in real estate, preferably with multi-site healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit organizations.
- Strong knowledge of zoning, licensing, and design standards for healthcare or behavioral health facilities.
- Proven ability to lead site acquisition and development in sensitive or regulated environments.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
- Passion for mission-driven work and improving access to care.
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license in good standing in state of employment and be insurable by the designated carrier. This role is required to drive for company purposes.
- This position requires frequent and extensive travel, up to 90%, including overnight and out of state.
- Flexible to travel on short notice is essential
Preferred
- Experience with trauma-informed design and behavioral healthcare facilities.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, ADA, CARF, Joint Commission, and state licensing requirements
Responsibilities: - Strategy & Expansion
- Develop and execute a real estate strategy aligned with the company’s growth plans, market demand, and community needs.
- Lead site selection and due diligence processes for new treatment centers, outpatient clinics, and administrative facilities.
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities in underserved areas or highly needed regions.
- Real Estate Development & Facilities
- Oversee leasing, purchasing, design, and construction for new sites and renovations.
- Ensure facilities are designed to promote healing, privacy, and ADA compliance.
- Partner with design and construction vendors who understand trauma-informed spaces and behavioral health facility needs.
- Portfolio Management
- Manage a national real estate portfolio, ensuring operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate and manage leases, renewals, and landlord relationships.
- Oversee property compliance with zoning, licensing, and healthcare-specific regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with other departments to ensure all real estate activity supports safe, legal, and ethical treatment delivery.
- Collaborate with community leaders and local officials to address concerns and build trust when opening new treatment centers.
- Risk & Compliance
- Evaluate real estate risks including legal, financial, environmental, and reputational.
- Ensure all facilities comply with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including those related to substance use disorder treatment.
