In our continued mission to deliver the best value, experience and opportunity for our communities, stakeholders and partners using customer insights and experience, we are seeking a Leasing Associate who is passionate about commercial real estate, eager to develop sales and negotiation skills, and ready to build a career in retail leasing. Upon successful completion of our training program, this role will move into a Leasing role. with a focus on developing new business with strategically targeted retailers looking to scale nationwide. This position has the geographic flexibility to work remotely offered by Tanger’s hub-and-spoke approach to a modern Teams-driven workplace.
About the Role:
As a Leasing Associate, you will gain hands-on experience in the fundamentals of retail leasing, market analysis, and tenant relations while working alongside experienced professionals. Through a comprehensive cross-functional training program, you'll receive exposure to all areas of the retail leasing business, including leasing space across a portfolio of Outlet shopping centers. Over time, you will take on greater responsibilities, managing an account list of top national retailers, leasing space across the entire portfolio, and building and maintaining strong relationships with tenants, while overseeing a group of assigned assets.

How you will contribute to what we do:
- Assist in sourcing and qualifying potential retail tenants through market research, networking with local brokers and cold calling.
- Support the leasing team in preparing marketing materials, proposals, LOI’s and necessary research and supporting reports.
- Conduct and attend property tours to learn the portfolio and the greater markets they serve.
- Spend several weeks throughout the program on location at shopping centers, corporate headquarters, and shorter trips to meet with existing and prospective tenants.
- Attend and participate in industry networking events, retail conferences, and site visits to properties.
- Analyze demographic and market data to identify the ideal tenant mixes for our shopping centers.
- Assist lease services team in creating, reviewing and editing account managers for portfolio negotiations.
- Pull reports and analyze for trends and other assigned research requests.
- With assistance and oversight, negotiate specialty leasing deals.
- With assistance and oversight, negotiate new perm deals and renewals.
About You:
- You have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience and a minimum of three (3) years in sales.
- You have proven a proven negotiating ability.
- You have experience with canvasing, cold calling, and prospecting clients.
- You have a team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
- You are highly motivated to travel, with a strong desire to drive and expedite deals.
- You possess strong organizational and time management skills to keep tasks on track.
- You excel at juggling multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- You are self-motivated, self-directed, and capable of exercising independent judgment.
- Your verbal and written communication skills are excellent, allowing you to articulate ideas clearly and effectively.
- You are adept at working with a variety of personalities, creating a positive, collaborative environment.
- You can prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, even with frequent interruptions and changing deadlines.
- You possess strong research and analytical skills, knowing how to seek and gather necessary information.

Hiring Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees.
Targeted Hiring Range: $84,000 - $104,500 per year
