Knowledge: In depth knowledge of UB04 and HCFA 1500 billing guidelines required. Requires working knowledge of medical terminology. Understanding of 835 denial reason codes required. Requires knowledge of clerical procedures for managing files and records.
- PATIENT ACCOUNTS REP HOME HEALTH & HOSPICE JOB SUMMARY
- A Patient Accounts Rep Home Health & Hospice has full scope knowledge of all billing and follow-up activities for hospital, home health and hospice. Responsible for training and development of the billing staff and other staff within the Department. Team leader of assigned physicians and certain BMH departments. Has an expanded knowledge of all patient types and specific billing and follow-up requirements. Researches issues and reports information to the Office Manager as requested.

- Education and/or experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Basic business courses preferred. Minimum of three years hospital or physician billing/follow-up experience is required. Experience with Mckesson Paragon, NextGen, Brightree, Point Click Care, or similar systems preferred.
Skills: Must have above average computer skills. Strong troubleshooting, mathematical, time management and communication skills needed, with both verbal and written skill proficiency. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
Abilities: Able to research issues and report information to the Office Manager as requested. Must be able to interpret and apply complex billing and follow-up guidelines to daily processes. Requires and ability to work both independently and effectively in a team environment. Must be able to multi-task and is comfortable complying with set processes.
