We’re seeking an experienced Vice President of Asset Management to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a proven track record in leasing, third-party management, internal operations, lender relations, and more. You’ll play a pivotal role in maximizing portfolio performance, leading teams, and driving asset value.
WHO WE ARE?
Midtown Capital Partners (MCP) is a prominent SEC registered Investment Advisor and privately held vertically integrated development and asset management firm established in 2010. MCP is based in Miami, Florida with offices in Spain and Colombia. The company focuses on acquiring and developing income-generating properties in the office, retail, industrial, and multifamily sectors in prominent MSA’s throughout Florida, Sunbelt states, Mid-Atlantic states, and Colorado. MCP has three open ended funds and a robust co-investment vehicle with a commercial portfolio more than $1B Assets Under Management. MCP also manages a portfolio of over 500 single-family rental units in South Florida. MCP enhances returns through bank, life company, CMBS and capital markets debt. The company currently provides an integrated solution through its high-touch investment strategy, comprehensive property management, and property disposition. Maximizes operational cash flows and maintains assets in optimal conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing Strategy & Oversight
- Hire and oversee leasing professionals
- Approve LOIs and review tenant financials
- Negotiate deal terms and lead lease renewals
- Drive rent growth and approve final lease documentation
- The continuous monitoring of the original underwriting of the property to ensure that the business plan is achieved and exceeded.
Third-Party Management
- Participate in due diligence for new assets
- Oversee post-closing requirements and transitions
- Identify, hire, and manage best-in-market third-party firms
- Negotiate service contracts and support operational execution
- Review and approve property budgets, CAMs, and monthly reporting
- Oversee BI & TI and improve documentation processes
Internal Team Leadership
- Hire and train internal asset management team
- Lead due diligence and integration for new acquisitions
- Establish and enforce controls, including variance reporting
- Approve payables via Elevate and lead leasing renewals
- Manage internal lease documents and approval workflows
Lender & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and submit quarterly and year-end reports
- Submit leases and obtain lender approvals
- Manage loan draws and insurance variance requests
- Administer loan compliance via LoanBoss
Real Estate Taxes (RET)
- Review and approve annual tax protest recommendations
- Lead data requests and submissions for annual protests
Insurance Compliance
- Track policy expirations and analyze competitive bids
- Ensure loan requirement compliance and assist in claims management
Legal Oversight
- Review and revise lease language
- Manage evictions, terminations, bankruptcies, and workouts
- Navigate lender defaults, subleases, assignments, and easements
Valuations
- Oversee annual valuation process and manage vendor bids
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 7+ years in commercial real estate asset management
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
- Deep understanding of lease structures, financial reporting, and operational controls
- Proven experience managing internal teams and third-party vendors
- Adept at working with lenders, legal teams, and tax/insurance professionals
