Payroll / HR Specialist
Overview:
The Payroll/HR Specialist is responsible for processing employees’ paychecks by collecting their payroll data and timesheets. Their duties include verifying employees’ work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, earnings and other statements to employees and updating payroll records regularly. Additionally, the HR Specialist supports broader HR initiatives, programs, and continuous improvement projects to support the effectiveness and efficiency of the Camco HR Department to drive a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data
- Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
- Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave and non-taxable wages
- Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer’s payments for social security, unemployment and workers compensation
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
- Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
- Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees
- HR Generalist duties to support talent acquisition, employee onboarding, benefits, employee engagement events, and compliance initiatives.
- Identifies opportunities to leverage Paycom system functionality to process improve current processes around benefits, GL Mapping, Performance Management, etc.
- Supports the delivery and execution of Camco’s benefits programs – tracking, communication, data, reporting, etc.
- Compiles data needed for audits, financial reports, and governmental reporting (i.e., EEO-1)
- Supports cyclical HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects, such as Open Enrollment communication, Handbook updates, Compliance training, etc.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Previous experience with Paycom payroll software is required
